Becoming a Member
When a particular church starts feeling like your spiritual home, it might be time to consider becoming a member of the congregation. In the Christian faith, membership comes with a public affirmation of faith. You might have made such an affirmation in another congregation. Membership, in that case, becomes simply a matter of transferring you from one congregation to another. Below are the ways to become a member.
- Transferring your membership from a previous congregation
- Making a Profession of Faith through either Adult Baptism or, for those baptized as infants, through Adult Confirmation (A public profession of faith requires the attendance at 3 membership classes along with regular church attendance)
- Teen Baptism or, for those baptized as infants, Teen Confirmation (Teen Baptism/Teen Confirmation is the culmination of several months of classes as young people, grade 8 and up, explore their own spiritual journey along with the basics of the Christian faith tradition.)
