Values in Action
Sharing Community Space
Every day we are glad to welcome community groups into our building. GIRL GUIDES make use of our hall on Wednesday evenings. While ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS meets in the church hall on Saturday evenings. The Clarington East Foodbank holds meetings in our hall, along with Probus, the Horticultural Society and a Photography Club.
Meeting Needs in Our Community

Throughout the winter months, CROCKPOT DINNERS are offered. Several Mondays in January, February and March people gather for a hearty meal and conversation. It is always a happy time. There is no cost to this dinner. A free-will donation box is available for those able to contribute.
In the Spring and Fall we organize a KID’S CLOTHING SWAP. The community generously donates clothing, which is then sorted and organized. And then all are welcome to come to the swap and take home the next size up for the kids in their lives. Coffee, tea, cookies and a kid’s corner add to the happy community buzz of the day.

Newcastle United Church is a proud supporter of the CLARINGTON EAST FOOD BANK. Did you know that you can donate to the food bank by bringing a non-perishable item to church with on the last Sunday on the month? Bring your food item to church and place it on the front pew on the north wall. A volunteer will make sure it gets delivered to the food bank. You can also make a monetary donation to the food bank. Specially marked envelopes are placed on the back of church pews for your convenience.
Wanting to donate? Click on the food bank’s wish list for donation ideas.
Mission & Service Fund
Many people of Newcastle United Church donate regularly to the MISSION & SERVICE FUND of The United Church of Canada. All the monies collected for M&S are sent to The United Church of Canada head office for disbursement to various places of need in our local community, throughout Canada and to our partners in other countries.
