Rev. Elaine Hall is our Minister. Elaine brings over 30 years of experience in congregational ministry and a deep commitment to shared, community-centered faith. A lifelong member of the United Church, Elaine has served in Cape Breton, Lanark, Balderson, and most recently, Port Perry. She and her husband Don (who is also a minister!) have three adult children. She keeps office hours most Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Donna Barber is our Music Director. Donna Barber has been playing the piano professionally for many years. After studying classical music at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, she received her ARCT in piano performance. Having always loved jazz music, she went on to study jazz piano with renowned Toronto jazz pianist Bernie Senensky. Over the years Donna has taught piano and music theory and has successfully put many students through RCM exams. From 2001–2017 she was the pianist/choir director at Greenwood United Church. She also played for their sister church, Mt. Zion United, for approximately 10 years, before leaving there in 2022 to accept the position of Music Director at Newcastle United Church. During her career, she has played at jazz festivals & clubs, corporate events, restaurants, hotels, weddings and private parties and was a ballet accompanist in Toronto for 15 years. These days she loves her work at Newcastle United Church and is also the accompanist for the Bowmanville Older Adults Choir. Donna’s amazing gift of music uplifts us every Sunday! Lynne Jefferson is our Church Administrator. Lynne is the friendly face you will meet in the church office and the welcoming voice on the phone. Lynne has been a member of Newcastle United Church for over 20 years and is an active Girl Guide leader in our community. Lynne is the mother of four adult children and loves to garden, and cook.
